Do you need more options for workouts in order to build up your stamina and endurance? Well this blog post is just for you! In this 90 minute workout, you will have another opportunity to build up your stamina. The workout will be divided into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced sections.
THREE TOP DRILLS FOR ENDURANCE
- Dribble and run
- Start on the touchline at a soccer field with the ball at your feet and be ready to run across the width of the field. Dribble the ball as fast as you can until you are parallel to the centre spot, leave the ball there, run at 80% speed to the opposite touchline, run back to the ball at the same pass and dribble it back to the starting position as fast as you can. The rest time should be as long as it takes to complete one cycle of the drill. (repeat 6 times)
- Back and Fourth
- You need training partners and two balls for this. Start halfway between the center and the goal-line with your training partner 10 yards behind the center spot, a ball on the center and the other ball in the middle of the goal holding the ball. From the starting spot, sprint to the center, pass the ball to your partner and sprint back to the starting spot. Then repeat with a header. Repeat the cycle until each partner completed the drill 6 times.
- Getting around the pitch
- Start at one corner flag and gently jog around the perimeter of the pitch until you are back at the starting spot. Now run at 70% of your top speed to the halfway line, before slowing and jogging the rest of the way. Then run the full length of the pitch at 70% and jog the rest of the way, etc. Do this until you are able to run around the pitch at 70% the entire way.
